Harley, Dale, Ryder & Monkee - The Boys + 1

What would a family site be without a page devoted to the pets?

Dale

DALE

We found him through a newspaper ad. We originally had one dog, named Chip, who did not do well alond.  So as to maintain some peace and quiet in the condo (and with the neighbors) we decided to get a friend for Chip. Dale is a full-blooded ShihTzu.

He was born on July 4, 2003 and adopted by us on August 6, 2005.

Harley

HARLEY

We found him through sheer dumb luck. He is also a full Shih-Tzu. We loved his harlequin-like markings and so the name. After such a good experience with two dogs, we just had to have a companion for Dale (and ourselves) after the loss of Chip. The family that we adopted him from had rescued Harley from a puppy mill where he was mis-treated and so is rather skittish. We intend to love the fear out of him.
Harley was born on March 29, 2005 and adopted by us on July 23, 2006.

Ryder

RYDER

We found him at the Anti-Cruelty Society. The paperwork says he is a two year old ShihTzu-Poodle mix, but it is hard to see much of the Shih-Tzu. They also said he did not bark (he does) and that he was house broken (mostly he is). He has really done a lot to bring Harley out of his shell. The three of them play all the time. And, because Jef doesn't want a poodle, we refer to him as a miniature Portugese Water Dog (but no one believes it - not even Jef).
We only have a birth year - 2005, he was adopted by us on Dec. 10, 2007

MONKEE

We found her at a pet store in Merrillville, IN.  She is a mixed breed- Chinese Crested and Lhasa Apso. Her face is really monkey-like and so her name.
She was born on Feb. 2nd, 2011 and we adopted her on April 3rd, 2011.

Jef can't wait for her to lose her teeth and her tounge starts to hang out.  She is a holy terror and is already giving her brothers a hard time.  We love her mohawk.
